A Year of Printmaking (Wednesday 6.30pm)

Service Description

Led by our experienced printmaking tutor, Laura Buckland, our year long course offers an opportunity to get stuck into the world of printmaking with inductions to a wide variety of printmaking techniques and the chance to develop your practice as a printmaker. The course is unaccredited, so you do not receive a formal qualification, but also means that there is no additional paperwork! You will however be expected to stay dedicated to the course for the year (please see our cancellation and refund policy before booking). The course itself will be split into 3 terms, following Norfolk school timetables. There will be 6 X 6 week chunks of teaching with bank holidays, half terms, Christmas and Easter holidays in between. Term 1 : September - December Inductions to different printmaking processes including monoprint, lino, drypoint, etching, letterpress, screen print, lithography, collagraph. Whether you're a beginner at everything or have tried your hand at some of these processes, this first term will be an opportunity to sample and discover new areas of print to explore. The 12 weeks will form an overall induction to the specialist materials and equipment available at our studio and the sessions will be tailored around your previous experience. Term 2 : January - April Further exploration of 1 or 2 chosen printmaking processes. You might want to extend your understanding of reduction and multiple block lino printing by learning more about layering and registration or you might want to extend your knowledge of intaglio techniques such as drypoint, engraving and etching . You can use these sessions to simply play, experiment and learn through process led practice, or you can start to focus on developing your designs and ideas. The sessions will be tailored for each person on the course so you might all end up doing different processes, much like in our open access sessions. Term 3 : April - July Refine your process by working towards either a series or edition of prints. As a group you will be encouraged to collaborate together by working towards and organising an exhibition. Individually you may want to put together a portfolio of finished works to apply for exhibitions or even higher education. Cancellation Policy

Course cost £1260 OPTION 1 - Preferred payment - £1260 paid in full prior to the start of the course. £441 paid as deposit to secure your place, the rest will be invoiced and due for payment prior to the course starting. OPTION 2 - 3 Termly instalments of £441 (Includes an additional 5% fee to cover admin and transaction costs.) To be paid prior to the start of each term. REFUNDS If you have paid in full but decide to withdraw from the Year of Printmaking course prior to it starting we will refund you a maximum of £1200, this is minus the 5% transaction fee of £60. If the course has started and you decide to withdraw or have to leave the course due to unforeseen circumstances we will refund you the equivalent of any full 6 week course fees minus the transaction fees. For example, if you paid in full but decide to withdraw from the course within the first 6 weeks, we will refund you a maximum of £1020 (£240 covers the booking fee and equivalent of a 6 week course). If you withdraw having paid a termly instalment we will refund you a maximum of £220 (£221 covers the booking fees and the equivalent of a 6 week course). Please give us as much notice as possible so we can try to fill your place. Cancellation policy This course/session requires a minimum of 4 participants in order to be viable to run. If we receive fewer than 4 bookings we may cancel the course/session or reschedule to start at a later date. In this event we will notify you via email to see if you are able to reschedule or to issue you with a full refund. If you wish to cancel your booking please contact us ASAP. We regret that refunds cannot be given for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start date of the course/booking. We cannot issue refunds if a participant does not turn up on the day. If we need to cancel a course for whatever reason we will notify all participants ASAP and issue full refunds via your original payment method. All bookings include a 5% online booking fee which is non-refundable, this covers transaction costs which we have to pay out as a non profit company. All participants must be over 18. Please do not book if you or the person you are booking for is under 18 years of age. By booking, you agree for us to share your email address with the course tutor so they can contact you with information as needed before the course. Your details will not be passed on by us to any 3rd parties. By booking you confirm you have read and agreed to these terms.
