Service Description
This 10 week course is an opportunity to develop how you can take drawing and mark-making into the realm of print. Whether you're a practiced drawer or a complete novice, these sessions with Laura will take on a process led approach to explore possibilities of line, tone and expression using various printmaking techniques. Starting with some observational drawing on site, you'll explore mono print and monotype in the first two sessions. Then, a different approach to relief printing with lino where you'll draw directly onto a block without an image transfer, you can then play with positive and negative space. Moving on to 'intaglio', you'll then explore drypoint, etching and soft ground where you can develop finer detail, shape and tone. All basic materials will be supplied, including papers, inks, lino (1 X A5), copper plate (1 X A5). Additional materials available to buy as you go. This course counts as a full induction to the studio, after which you might be interested in becoming a member of Norwich Printmaking Hub and booking open access. This course/session requires a minimum of 3 participants in order to be viable to run. If we receive fewer than 3 bookings we may cancel the course/session or reschedule to start at a later date. In this event we will notify you via email to see if you are able to reschedule or to issue you with a refund. If you wish to cancel your booking please contact us at norwichprintmakers@gmail.com ASAP. We regret that refunds cannot be given for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start date of the course/booking. We cannot issue refunds if a participant does not turn up on the day. If we need to cancel a course for whatever reason we will notify all participants ASAP and issue refunds via your original payment method. All bookings include a 5% online booking fee which is non-refundable, this covers transaction costs which we have to pay out as a non profit company. All participants must be over 18. Please do not book if you or the person you are booking for is under 18 years of age. By booking, you agree for us to share your email address with the course tutor so they can contact you with information as needed before the course.
