Service Description
This 4 week course is an opportunity to play with combining image and text by creating your own lino block and printing it alongside our letterpress collection! Both lino cut and letterpress are relief printing techniques, they involve inking the surface area of a block and then taking an impression by placing paper over the inked surface and applying pressure to take a print. To prepare your lino block you'll need a basic shape or drawing to work from and will be guided through the process of transferring your image before carving the surface with a range of tools. The letterpress type is all ready to go so you can then play with arranging image and text together, this will involve raising the lino block to 'type height' so they can be printed at the same time on our proofing press! Basic materials will be provided (e.g. 1x A6 lino block, paper, ink). Additional materials can be paid for during the sessions. Once you have completed this 4 week course you can apply to become a member of Norwich Printmaking Hub and can book onto our open access sessions. Cancellation Policy
This course/session requires a minimum of 3 participants in order to be viable to run. If we receive fewer than 3 bookings we may cancel the course/session or reschedule to start at a later date. In this event we will notify you via email to see if you are able to reschedule or to issue you with a refund. If you wish to cancel your booking please contact us at norwichprintmakers@gmail.com ASAP. We regret that refunds cannot be given for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start date of the course/booking. We cannot issue refunds if a participant does not turn up on the day. If we need to cancel a course for whatever reason we will notify all participants ASAP and issue refunds via your original payment method. All bookings include a 5% online booking fee which is non-refundable, this covers transaction costs which we have to pay out as a non profit company. All participants must be over 18. Please do not book if you or the person you are booking for is under 18 years of age. By booking, you agree for us to share your email address with the course tutor so they can contact you with information as needed before the course. Your details will not be passed on by us to any 3rd parties. By booking you confirm you have read and agreed to these terms.
